The Field Knife Set was designed specifically for outdoor and travel use. They are therefore much more compact than standard kitchen knives. In order to achieve this, the traditional grip has been reduced to a bare minimum of what is necessary.

got it for nursing school at UT Tyler. Love it as it's a great little resource to haul around everywhere which has a significant amount of great information which is needed for my classes and clinicals. Highly recommend it but due note that the 8th edition contains the same information merely a few pages are numbered differently and that older edition was nearly $30 less in price. Just an FYI if looking to save a few bucks...
